IT Cosmetics Eye Shadow Trio – Luxe Pearl

I forgot to mention that I purchased one of the It Cosmetics Eye Shadow Trios in the shade Luxe Pearl ($24) during their big Friends and Family sale.

Short and sweet version: The Luxe Pearl trio consists of a pearly peachy beige, a pearly golden light brown, and a darker matte brown. The textures of the shadows are soft and velvety. I can’t speak to the trio’s longevity; I have really dry skin so everything lasts equally well on me. Pigmentation is good but not mind-blowing.

Although I like the trio, I don’t think I’m going to keep it. As you can see from the swatches below (as usual, one swipe on bare skin, no primer), the lightest peachy shade almost completely matches the skin color of my arms which in turn matches my eyelids.

My eyelids are actually darker than the rest of my face, so I usually go for lighter, more brightening bases or all-over lid colors that matches the rest of my face. Consequently, there just enough contrast between the peachy shade in this trio and my eyelids for my liking. Because the trio’s lightest shade matches my lids so well, rather than a trio, Luxe Pearl acts as more of a duo of browns on me. I imagine that this trio would show to better effect on people with lighter or darker eyelids than mine.
