Nothing too exciting. I only got the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer in SX05 and the bareMinerals Invisible Bronze bronzer in Fair to Light, and both are products I’ve bought and reviewed on the blog before.
I received the Sephora VIB sale notice in the mail today. If you saw my earlier blog entry from today then you know that I’ve had to reevaluate my planned purchases. I was originally planning on getting the bareMinerals Wish List palette but I think I’m going to cross it off my shopping list (at least for now) because I just bought The Nature of Nudes palette.
The only other big makeup purchase I want to make is for the Viseart Cashmere palette and I’ll probably renew my Flash 2-day shipping subscription but now I might skip the Sephora VIB sale entirely and wait for the Sephora’s December Beauty Insider Holiday Reward Card promotion. If it’s like previous years, VIBs will receive a $20 gift card in December and that’ll be a better discount for me than 20% off. Hopefully, the only item I want doesn’t sell out before then but if it does I won’t sweat it. I’m sure Frends Beauty, Muse Beauty Pro or another website will have the Cashmere palette on sale before the end of the year.
I really didn’t plan on making another purchase but there were a couple of items that I couldn’t stop thinking about no matter what. Since I was pretty close to renewing my VIB status for next year, I finally just went to heck with it and pulled the trigger.
This time around I got:
- Ciaté London Olivia Palermo x Ciaté London The Smouldering Eye Palette
- Tata Harper Volumizing Lip & Cheek Tint in Very Sweet
Plus a bunch of samples.
Just wanted to share the goodies I got from Sephora with my VIB gift card this year.
- Make Up For Ever Artist Palette Volume 1 – Nudes
- Viseart Eyeshadow Palette – Cool Mattes
- Tata Harper Very Illuminating Cheek Tint
Plus a bunch of samples including the Cocktail Hour Classics Sample Bag.
Perhaps I should be embarrassed to admit that I have no idea who Olivia Palermo is but I’m really not. I assume the Olivia Palermo name is one of the palette’s main selling points but I was compelled to buy it because of the interesting selection colors it contained. Rather than some random colors thrown together, to my eyes it looks like two quads — an earthy quad and a mauve quad — linked together by a matte ivory shade in the center. Of course you’re not limited to using these shadows as quads and can combine them however you want but that’s just how I visually sorted the colors at first glance. Any way you look at it, the colors are gorgeous (at least in my opinion).
The Ciaté London Olivia Palermo x Ciaté London Smokey Suedes Eye Palette is a limited edition, Sephora exclusive palette that retails for $39. I purchased mine during the recent Sephora VIB sale.
