I’m doing some Spring cleaning of my makeup stash. I hauled quite a bit over the past couple of months but I’m still trying to keep my collection quite small. As such, I thought a bit of swatching would be helpful to me (and to you all) in determining which items get to stay and which need to go.

For reference, the top row of swatches consists of all of the foundations currently in my stash and the bottom row is all of my concealers.
As you can see, the IT Cosmetics CC Illumination Cream is way too dark for me. It also runs a lot darker comoared to the regular CC Creams, both the Light shade which I previously owned and the newer Fair Light shade that I just recently purchased from Sephora. I remember really loving the CC Cream back in the day but it’s just not working for me these days. I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve encountered better foundation formulas since then or if it’s not working anymore because of my updated skincare regimen. I’m leaning more towards the latter. The combination of moisturizers I use in the morning are quite rich and contain a lot of oils. Great for my skin but not so great when it comes to makeup application. I’ve been experiencing a lot of streaking and transfer when I use the CC creams and I don’t recall that being an issue in the past. Also, I’m feeling that the new Fair Light shade is a bit too peachy for me.
Love L’Oreal Pro Glow but the color #202 Creamy Natural isn’t working for me anymore. It’s got to go.
I repurchased the Missha Perfect Cover BB cream. I never really liked the formula personally although I know a lot of people do but I wanted to give it another try because tastes change, as does skin, over time. In case you’re wondering why the tube looks different, it’s the same BB cream just in a cute limited edition packaging. Shade #21 looks super gray in swatches but I feel like it adjusts more to my skin tone when it’s actually blended on my face. However, I still don’t love how it accentuates dry patches, so this one’s outta here too.
I’m going to keep the Kevin Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer. It’s a great multitasker. I can use it for pinpoint concealing or mix it with moisturizer as a foundation.
I’m still feeling out the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue stick foundation. The color match is good but I need to play around with this foundation some more.
As far as concealers go, the Bye Bye Redness is still too dark and drying for me, even this newer Light Beige shade.
The IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination concealer is nice but I prefer the richer NYX Gotcha Covered concealer. The Illumination concealer, in my opinion is more lightweight but sheerer and more matte. I think I get more coverage as well as moisture from the NYX.
I like the Amazing Cosmetics stick concealer for on-the-go touch ups. It’s okay but not as hydrating as people make it out to be. On second thought, I don’t think I need two stick concealers in my collection and, between the two, I prefer the color match of The Face Shop’s dual concealer on me more.
The Face Shop’s dual concealer is a dupe of the Nature Republic concealer duo that I owned and liked in the past, so I’m keeping it. FYI it’s a cream stick concealer on one end and a liquid concealer on the other.
Everything that I’m getting rid of has either found a new home already or is going to be listed on my blog sale, so head on over there if you’re interested. I’ve just updated the blog sale page.
