CVS Haul

Last week (or was it the week before that?) CVS ran a promo on e.l.f. — Buy $10 Get $3 ECB — so I decided to grab the Ultimate Blending Brush ($6) and the Beautifully Bare Blending Brush ($6). I’ve had my eyes on both brushes for months but it wasn’t until this past month that I finally spotted them in stores. Prior to that the only place I’d seen it was on the e.l.f. website.

The brushes are fantastic, especially the Ultimate Blending Brush which reminds me of the larger end of IT Cosmetics’ dual sided Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush.

I was curious about the Beautifully Bare Blending Brush because (1) I’ve never owned a brush shaped like it and (2) it looks like it could be a dupe of the Sephora Pro Full Coverage Airbrush #53 which costs $38.

What I’ve gathered from watching and reading reviews is that both brushes are great multi-taskers. Apparently a lot of people like to use the fan shaped Beautifully Bare Blending Brush for foundation which is interesting because I would’ve never considered it for that purpose. I got it mainly to use with my bronzer. Both brushes are super soft, as soft as any of my Ecotools and Real Techniques brushes, and I’m excited to play with them.

I also found a display for L’Oreal’s new Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation ($13.99) which seems to be all the buzz on YouTube at the moment. The shade I chose is 202 Creamy Natural, the 2nd lightest shade in the range, and it seems to be a decent match for me. I’ve played with it a little already and I have to say I was surprised by how runny it is. Since this is supposedly a foundation for people with dry skin, I had expected a creamier, thicker foundation.

And CVS is once again running a Physicians Formula promo this week — Buy $15 Get $7 ECB — so I purchased another backup of the Argan Oil ($15.99). In the morning and at night, whenever I pump out some moisturizer onto my hand I like to add 3 drops of the argan oil to give an added boost of moisture. I go through a bottle every month or two, so I always have backups on hand.
