Maybelline Face Studio Master Matte Blush Stick – Fiery Flora

Maybelline Face Studio Master Matte Blush Stick – Fiery Flora

I spotted a lone Fiery Flora the same day I snagged Touch of Spice. It was sitting in a nearly depleted Spring 2015 Maybelline Rebel Bloom display almost as if it had been waiting for me. Let you tell you, I’ve been searching everywhere for this blush stick and, wouldn’t you know it, it was in the last place I looked: a sad, rundown looking CVS next to a Whole Foods store.

I nearly balked at the price though. $10.49?! At the drugstore?! Luckily Maybelline was on sale that week or I would’ve passed, limited edition or not.

I’ve tried other shades of Maybelline blush sticks before and although I really love the formula — it’s lightweight, thin, pigmented, unscented and non-sticky — I wasn’t a fan of the shades in the core collection because they all contain varying degrees of shimmer. But, finally, Maybelline released a few of matte blush sticks with the Rebel Bloom collection. I believe there a couple of pinks and a bronze shade in the limited edition collection but it was the orange shade I was interested in getting myself.

Maybelline Fiery Flora, BECCA Papaya

Fiery Flora is a curious color. Just looking at it in the tube it seems like a very yellow-based orange, especially when I put it next to BECCA Papaya which looks a lot redder.

However, swatched, it’s actually the other way around. Papaya is the one that’s way more yellowish and Fiery Flora is the one that has more red to it. Frankly, it’s odd. Regardless, it’s a very pretty blush that’s very blendable and highly pigmented. If you can manage to find Fiery Flora this late in the season, I suggest grabbing it. I know I’ll be putting mine to good use this summer.

P.S. I’ve updated my blog sale, so please take a look when you get the chance. Thanks! 😀
