I finally spotted the limited edition Spring 2014 NYC City Bloom display at CVS today and snatched up one of each shade.
I came to the conclusion long ago that the NYC Quick Dry nail polishes are my favorite. I love the colors they come out with, I love the brush (not too wide or dense, not too narrow), the formula works great on me, and the price is just right ($1.99 each).
The City Bloom collection includes five nail polishes: Sweet Candy, Mimosa Bouquet, Sunset Park Pink, Coral Crush, and Robin’s Egg Blue.
Sweet Candy is the Spring 2014 Shimmer Blast Sparkle Top Coat. In the bottle it looks quite similar to last year’s unnamed Shimmer Blast but Sweet Candy contains pinky-purple shimmer. Last year’s was a blue shimmer top coat.
NYC has rolled out yellow nail polishes before but this year’s Mimosa Bouquet is the palest yet with fine shimmer.
Sunset Park Pink looks a lot like Pink Poodle, a limited edition color from several years ago, but a little lighter and brighter. It has a creme finish.
Coral Crush is brighter and redder than the milkier Peaches ‘N Cream and Heat Wave from previous years. It has a creme finish.
Robin’s Egg Blue is a gorgeous pastel greenish-blue creme.
Those colors are really pretty, I hope I see them in my stores soon! They look like jellies, are they?
Except for the top coat and shimmery yellow, they’re all cremes.
