Cargo Blush in Louisiana

I purchased another Cargo blush — yes, another! — to try after watching Flowerbomb31 on YouTube. She raved about Louisiana and I just couldn’t resist.

I would describe Louisiana as a pinky beige with a hint of mauve. It’s a gorgeous color but it’s very frosty with a ton of shimmer. The shimmer’s not as noticeable in a heavy swatch but becomes very apparent when the color’s applied in a sheerer layer on the cheeks and buffed out.

Although I wouldn’t call them dupes, Cargo Louisiana actually looks quite similar to my Hard Candy blush in Pin Up which is a slightly warmer nude pink. While the two look equally frosty in heavy swatches, they couldn’t be more different on the cheeks. Louisiana is a shimmer bomb whereas Pin Up has more of a uniform frosty sheen. Applied normally in a lighter layer rather than a heavy swatch, the two colors produce a similar effect on my cheeks and out of the two I prefer Pin Up for its more refined finish. Yay for cheaper options!
