On my most recent trip to the beauty supply store I discovered a new display for Nicka K’s Satin Lip Crayons. There were 14 shades available but I only purchased one shade — Bright Orange — for $1.99.
Nicka K’a Bright Orange is just that — a bright orange color with a non-shimmery satin finish. The texture isn’t greasy/slick in the slightest but it doesn’t tug on the lips either. The color is opaque and even in two passes and the crayon is unscented. There’s no need to sharpen the crayon, just twist the base to dispense more product.
Compared to the Bright Orange crayon, the Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti is much sheerer and glossier, and the Nicka K Orange Tint lipstick is a glossier (not as glossy as Tutti Frutti), lighter orange. Bright Orange is, by far, the most opaque out of all three.
I was really pleasantly surprised by the opacity of the crayon especially for how cheap it is and I’ll definitely be heading back to the beauty supply store for more soon. There’s a gorgeous red shade in the Maxi Satin Lip Crayon collection that’s just begging to come home with me.
