On my most recent trip to Walmart to pick up some snacks I also grabbed one of the Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blushes in Pin Up ($7).
The baked blushes have been around for several years now but they just never interested me before. Lately, though, I’ve been into all things shimmery so I figured I should give one a try. All I can say is I regret not trying Hard Candy’s baked cosmetics sooner.
Since this is a baked product I expected the texture to be dry, hard and flaky compared to a traditional non-baked blush but I was able to grab product really easily with a brush. The powder is smooth and soft (but not too soft) and thankfully there isn’t any chunky glitter to be found.
Out of all the Blush Crush blushes on the shelf I was drawn to Pin Up because it seemed to be the most natural shade. I’d describe the color as a nude pink — pink with a touch of brownish beige — that imparts a warm shimmery sheen to the skin. Compared to the usual bright blush colors I go for, it’s beautiful in an understated kind of way.
I definitely plan on grabbing a couple more of the Hard Candy baked products, namely their Tiki bronzer and Honeymoon blush next.
