Sonia Kashuk’s Eye on Neutral eyeshadow palette has been on my shopping list for a long time now but try as I might to buy one it was always sold out online and in stores. Apparently, the entire brand was being repackaged so Target was clearancing out all of the cosmetics in the old packaging before the Spring relaunch and weren’t restocking in the meantime.
After weeks of being out of stock, I finally got my hands on one! I bought mine online from Target for $19.99.
From what I’ve gathered, the new Eye on Neutral palette is now part of the “Eye Couture Eye Palette” line, an update of their original “Instructional Eye Palette” collection.
The old palette was a little bulkier with a side panel that slid out and contained step-by-step instructional diagrams for creating different eye looks. The new palette is slimmer and no longer has that slide-out panel with visual guides.
Strangely enough, although Target.com and SoniaKashuk.com have updated their websites with the new name and the palette itself clearly doesn’t contain instructions anymore, the label on the back of the packaging still uses the old palette name and description. And because the new palette still has the old label with the old ingredients list I have no idea if the Eye On Neutral palette’s been reformulated in addition to being repackaged.
Tons of YouTubers and bloggers have raved about the Eye On Neutral palette but I was still very hesitant about making the purchase. I shouldn’t have been concerned because it turns out I really, really like it!
The palette contains a fantastic mix of neutral shades — all matte! — and they all have great pigmentation and apply smoothly with little to no fallout. This is a wonderful collection of colors — very versatile and totally wearable — that I can see myself using day to day. I love that the palette isn’t overloaded with super dark shades that I know I’ll never use but still includes a pigmented matte black shade with which to line my eyes or create a smokey eye look.
Honestly, now that I have the Eye on Neutral palette I’m seriously rethinking all of the other eyeshadow palettes that I own.
