The entire American Boardwalk candle collection officially debuts in stores tomorrow (it’s been available online for the past month or so). I just wanted to post my thoughts and a short review of the Summer Boardwalk candle up before then.
I have nothing new to report, really. It’s like everyone’s said. Summer Boardwalk burns beautifully and I got a nice, even pool of wax. I had no problems with the wicks whatsoever.
I’m not sure if I would call it a popcorn scent though. Perhaps it’s because I’ve grown used to melting my Better Homes and Gardens Country Kettle Corn tarts but Summer Boardwalk doesn’t smell much like popcorn or caramel corn to me. I’d say it’s more of a mellow, creamy, caramel apple scent.
And I’ve probably gotten used to the strength of the ScentSationals and BHG tarts too because even though Summer Boardwalk has gotten a reputation as a strongly scented candle I thought it was only medium scented. On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d rate it a 7. I was burning it in the smallest room in my house and it wasn’t too heavy at all. Compared to Summer Boardwalk, BHG Green Apple was much more intense.
Despite not living up to the hype for me — not surprising since there was SO much hype — I still do enjoy Summer Boardwalk a lot and I would definitely recommend it. Hopefully, there will be another 2 for $20 sale soon.
