NYC New York Color Liquid Lip Shine – Nude York City

New York Color Liquid Lip Shine - Nude York City

I received a complimentary tube of NYC’s Liquid Lip Shine in the shade Nude York City to test and review as part of my Influenster Holiday VoxBox. However, if you’ve been following my blog for the past year you’d know that I already own a tube of that very shade. In fact, I purchased a few shades of the Liquid Lip Shines with my own money at the start of 2011 when New York Color reformulated and relaunched their Liquid Lip Shine lipglosses. And if you already knew all that, you’d also know that I L-O-V-E and raved about the lipglosses on my blog before. So even though I received a free tube of Nude York City, you know that my positive review for the lipgloss is honest and unbiased. I loved the gloss then and I still love it now.

What they say:

Straight from the city that never sleeps, NYC New York Color offers products with uptown style at down-to-earth prices, from $.99 – $4.99. The energy, style and color of New York City shines through the wide range of shades, textures and innovative products. NYC always delivers the most on-trend products & shades hot off the runway!

A beauty-editor favorite is Liquid Lipshine ($2.49). It has pure pigments that created a 3-D gloss effect. Vitamin E provides shine and a moisturizing feel. The formula is non-sticky, super shiny & soft. Available in 10 on-trend shades from neutral nudes, to berries & fuchsias. Start shopping for NYC at these stores nearest you: Walmart, Target, Rite Aid, CVS, Family Dollar, Duane Reade, Kmart, HEB, and others.  Visit newyorkcolor.com to check out all shades and fun products from New York Color!

The New York Color Liquid Lip Shines are available in 10 shades and retail for $2.49 each (0.24 fluid ounces / 7.2 ml). The colors range from neutrals to brights with Nude York City being a sheer peachy nude with micro-shimmer that adds dimension to the lips without looking noticeably shimmery. Worn alone, this particular shade adds a subtle hint of color to the lips and is great for a natural, “no makeup” makeup look. Nude York City can be worn on top of lipsticks as well to tone down very bright or dark colors, and it’s also great for layering on top of matte colors when you want a more glossy finish.

The gloss feels smooth, creamy and non-sticky. It has no flavor but does have a subtle caramel-vanilla scent that fades quickly upon application.

The Liquid Lip Shine wand has a long, flexible sponge-tip with a narrow paddle-like shape that allows it to hug the shape and curve of the lips, making application extremely easy.

The Liquid Lip Shines are definitely some of my favorite drugstore lipglosses and I love everything about them: the consistency, colors, scent, applicator, and price tag.
