I’ve never been fully satisfied with the old swatch pics I took because at the time I was only able to take photos indoors due to the bad weather. Also, in the year since I made my last blog entry about the lipsticks I’ve gotten a different camera which, hopefully, makes a difference for the better.
Here are the promised updated swatch photos of all the e.l.f. Mineral lipsticks that I own. For reference, I’m currently about an NC20 (still working off my summer “tan”) but getting a little paler everyday. In my old swatch pics I was closer to NC15 and Natural Nymph swatched much more pink on my skin then.
And before you ask, yes, the swatches are labeled correctly. Looking at e.l.f.’s online swatches you might think Runway Pink would be lighter than Nicely Nude but on me Runway Pink is definitely the darker of the two.
I still really like these lipsticks. They’re creamy, unscented/unflavored, have good color payoff, are nicely packaged, and are relatively inexpensive.
The pics are self-explanatory so there’s really nothing much left to say.
In case you’re wondering I usually take my outdoor swatches in my backyard (that’s snow on the grass :p), near the brick pathway and also against the side of my house. My house is eggshell white so it makes a nice background for swatch photos.
